The philosophy guiding the Hamvention SES is not to fill a logbook, contest style. Rather, we the booth operators are trying to offer the mic to HamVention attendees. We will try to make contacts in slow periods, but primarily we are helping HamVention attendees get acquainted with the equipment we have set up.

If you are planning to attend Hamvention this year, you are cordially invited to stop by the SES booth, look over the interesting equipment that we have installed, and contact friends at home or someone new. Because we depend on equipment loaned to us by vendors at Hamvention, the equipment that we use can vary from year to year.

If you can’t make it to Hamvention this year, answer one of our calls and get into our logbook. We are not going to promise to use a certain band or frequency, but in the past, we have favored 20 and 40 meters.

I am really looking forward to meeting you either in person at the Special Event Station Booth, or in an over the air QSO.
