The free ARRL Events app is now available and already includes Hamvention’s full program, so attendees can browse and schedule forums, find affiliated events, and preview the extensive list of exhibitors. During the event, attendees can use other app features to follow the hourly prize drawings populated by the Dayton Hamvention Prize Committee, and browse building and site maps.

Attendees are also encouraged to tap on the MyProfile icon in the app to add their name and call sign, email address, and any additional information they would like to share with other Hamvention guests. Additionally, the MyBadge icon displays a QR code of your event badge that can be scanned by another attendee or exhibitor using the Scan Badge icon – instantly connecting shared contact information with other hams at the event.

The app is available for Apple and Android smart devices, or access the web browser version which is optimized for nearly any browser or other type of mobile device. . The National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting in conjunction with the West Chester Amateur Radio Association announce expanded hours for the museum during the 2023 Hamvention. We will be open for the following; Thursday May 18th from 1:00 to 9:00PM, Friday May 19th from 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Saturday May 20th from 12:00 to 9:00 PM and Sunday May 21st from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Admission is $10.00 at the door. Our Amateur Radio station WC8VOA will be on the air to operate. The museum is a short drive from Hamvention down either Interstate 75 or Route 42 from Xenia. GPS use Crosley Blvd.

New exhibits include a dedicated room for Amateur Radio and shortwave equipment. Newly
renovated ham shack with state of the art equipment from Yaesu, Icom and Elecraft. Docents
and ARS operators will be available to enhance your visit to the museum.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) nationally recognized AUXCOMM course returns to the Dayton Hamvention this year. This free course will be held the three days prior to Hamvention from May 16 th – May 18 th , 2023, at a location near Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. There are only 30 slots available for this course, so you should submit your application now. Attendees will be taken on a first come first served basis. To apply, please send a copy of your FEMA issued course completion certificates for Independent Study courses IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 and a copy of your active FCC issued amateur radio Technician’s license, or higher, by 1 May 2023.

The land occupied by the Ramada Inn has been owned by the city of Xenia since the 1974 tornado. According to the article, city officials said that AK Group Hotels, Inc., the operator of the Ramada Inn, has been operating under a month-to-month lease since 2017.

In August, the city of Xenia reportedly reached an agreement with Ramada Inn operators that allowed them to operate until Oct. 31 in order to liquidate the business. The land will be incorporated into the Xenia Towne Square revitalization project.

Hamvention management asks hams to share this information so that anyone with reservations at the Ramada Inn Xenia will be aware of it.
